Summary Position
This position is a part of the Learning Design and Support team within Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT). The main responsibility includes supporting faculty development initiatives that focus on integrating instructional technologies by offering consultations and training. Additionally, this position focuses on advancing the use of technology in teaching and learning by developing materials for instructors that are accessible, engaging, and pedagogically grounded.
This position reports through Teaching and Learning Technologies within the Office of Information Technology (IT). IT is in the division of Finance & Administration.

Education Requirements
Masters degree required.
Degree/Major: Preferred fields of study: Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Media, Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or similar fields.
Length of Experience: Required: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the areas of curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, instructional design or similar fields, preferably in a higher education environment.
Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience.

General Purpose of Position

Additionally, this position focuses on advancing the use of technology in teaching and learning by developing materials for instructors that are accessible, engaging, and pedagogically grounded.
This position reports through Teaching and Learning Technologies within the Office of Information Technology (IT). IT is in the division of Finance & Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support faculty development initiatives (50% of time).
- Consult with instructors to create interactive and engaging learning content that integrates instructional technologies in face-to-face, blended, and online environments.
- Collaborate with programs, and departments on the use and implementation of instructional technologies to enhance students learning experiences.
- Coordinate, develop, and conduct workshops and training sessions, in collaboration with other Instructional Technologists and campus partners, on various educational and technology-related topics.
- Continually research and explore new and emerging technologies that can be used to enhance the teaching and learning experience by keeping up to date with innovations in the field of instructional design and educational technology and collaborating with other educators and technologists to share knowledge and best practices.
2. Manage design and development for courses (30% of time).
- Partner with faculty through the process of ideation, implementation, and iteration of technology-enabled course designs that includes assignments, projects, and other learning experiences for in-person, hybrid, and online courses.
- Collaborate with campus partners and departments to design and develop technology-enabled instructional materials and online modules/training for academic courses, professional development programs, and department trainings that support learning for diverse learners.
- Offer expertise on learning design, instructional technology, and digital accessibility.
- Serve as a project manager to collaborate with campus partners for TLT resources.
- Consult with faculty members teaching in the Summer Online program to design and develop engaging online courses by integrating relevant instructional technologies. Coordinate with the Registrars Office to ensure effective communication and support for faculty.
- Design and update university wide course templates and support the creation of departmental course templates in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Develop resources for instructors to adopt Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in their course design so that all learners have equal access to the content.
3. Support TLT operations (20% of time).
- Support resolution of service requests for Learning Design and Support team .
- Collaborate with IT staff and campus partners to create innovative learning experiences for students.
- Collaborate with other Instructional Technologists to maintain and upgrade technologies. Recommend technology solutions for adoption and assist with deployments.
- Develop and update instructional technology documentation that provides clear guidelines on how to effectively use technology.
- Develop best practices using learning theories to support and promote the effective use of instructional technologies across campus.
- Provide guidance as a technology expert on committees.
