Major/Essential Functions
The department is seeking a 9-month non-tenure-track faculty member in Agricultural Communications. The successful candidate will (a) teach Agricultural Communications courses in scientific writing, professional communication, and event planning, and (b) support and enhance the undergraduate major in agricultural communications. The candidate will have a record of professional accomplishment and teaching experience in the following areas: scientific writing, professional communication, and event planning. Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in these topic areas.
Required Qualifications
A master’s degree in agricultural communications, agricultural education, journalism, life science communications, mass communications, or closely related discipline. Ability to teach effectively. Job assignment is full-time instruction. This position will be classified as Security Sensitive and require a criminal background check if selected for employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated interest and ability in written, oral, visual, and electronic communications in the context of agricultural sciences and natural resources is expected. Agricultural education or related area is required. Applicants who are outstanding teachers with experience in resident and distance instructional delivery preferred.
